There are 3 or 4 different vacuums being reviewed on this same thread.Update 6625:I noticed today why it tells you you should have six feet open space directly in front of the charging port: when the vacuum is returning home, she will go so many feet out away from the port so that she can turn around and line up to get on the charging nodes. In reality, I don’t think she needs more than 4 ft… But there may be issues with her being able to turn around if there’s anything blocking her. 6 ft is a lot of space, so you might be able to get away with 4 to 5, depending on your setup. Otherwise, you would have to use the remote to manually return her to the station, or pick her up and put her on the charger yourself. Not having the space is not a deal-breaker, it just means you will less of the “auto” features. Today I did let her run until her battery got low and she maneuvered herself back to the charger without any assistance.I also want to say she is doing a pretty job at cleaning. I’m used to having to sweep and then mop the floors… But after letting her run through the whole apartment for 2 days, when I’m up today it was such a nice smooth process. A big reason why I didn’t let it go all over the apartment is because I’m still in the process of moving and I have packaging everywhere on the floors, creating too many obstacles.With that being said, so far so good. I just let her run around in “Auto Mode” and she worked great. Yes, my robot vacuum is a “she.” I named her Suki, as she “Suki a lot of dirt.” Plus Suki is a name for “loved one,” and I love her already!! I swore up and down I was never going to be one of those people who have one of these… and here we are. And I probably never would have if I had not stayed with my sister and her husband for several months when I first moved to a new State. They have one and I really noticed how much a difference it makes and keeping up with pet hair and everything else.What seemed like really haphazard navigation ended up being a lot more mapped out than it first appeared. While it look like she was just going in random directions with no uniform, I did start to notice that she was not going over the exact same path upon return. So, somehow, it’s working to where I can tell the machine is covering everywhere. It definitely appears to be mapping while it’s in use, but I know it does not store mapping. That’s a big part of the need for Wi-Fi with other robot vacuums. I did notice that a couple people were complaining in the reviews about her constantly vacuuming just the edges by the wall… This is probably because they didn’t realize that she was in that mode. Because you can literally make it so that she focuses only on the borders. There’s quite a few nifty features that you can program the vacuum to do… And it even has a scheduling option so that you can schedule the vacuum to go off at whatever time you want (as well as a way to cancel the schedules if things change). Overall, pretty nifty. It does what I need it to do, and that’s all that matters to me. I don’t need a bunch of fancy features. My apartment is just under 800 square feet; therefore, I don’t need it to do special mapping to try to remember where it left off after a charge. It’s pretty much going to get the whole place on one charge.One MAJOR reason why I selected this, (outside of the lower cost) is because it does NOT require an app or Wi-Fi connection (in fact you absolutely cannot connect this particular vacuum to an app or Wi-Fi, so if that is what you’re looking for this is not the vacuum for you). Sure, with an app you can do things like trigger her to start running before you even get home from work… But, quite honestly, that doesn’t even matter to me. Because, if I learned anything from watching my sister and her husband’s pricier, self emptying robot vacuum? It’s that these things are constantly getting themselves into trouble and you need to be there to rescue them, anyway (which is a total drain on their battery if you aren’t there to save them). So, there’s no reason why I would need the robot vacuum to run while I’m not home. On a side note… I found it quite hilarious that the instructions say that you should not place her near the stairs or a cliff. And I was scratching my head wondering how many people with fortresses were buying these things. 😂😂😂And speaking of running… Very quiet. I would have to say that my stand up floor fan is way louder than this thing. The AC unit is louder than this thing. I would assume that some of that has to do with the fact that the suction is not superior in this thing, as it’s only at 2000 (really pricey robot vacuums are around 4,000). However, I have laminate floors (fake wood flooring in a linoleum-type flooring) and the throw rug in my living room is one of those very low profile new kind that are washable, which is comparable to a thick blanket.Speaking of the area rug… This thing had no problem going up and over and onto it regardless what angle she approached the rug. Sometimes she came onto the carpet straight on and other times she came up on to the carpet at an angle. And she didn’t even blink an eye!As stated before, I only took her for a test run and she picked up so much “tuck” in that short timeframe. I was thrilled that she even got all the little itty bitty popcorn pieces from all the styrofoam my furniture and other items were delivered in. It’s like no matter how careful you are taking things out of the boxes those little tiny popcorn pieces get everywhere and they are so impossible to sweep up. Keep in mind I had, just the night before, swept and mopped most of the area that she ran over today in her test run and there was still that much stuff in her canisterThe canister is very easy to remove. You don’t have to flip her upside down or anything. You just push down on the little release button with your thumb and pop it out. That is also where you will find a filter that you can clean out. Read the manual that comes with it throughout. It’s very helpful on how to keep her clean or else she won’t work properly.I love the remote. She got stuck trying to go over packaging from my couches that was on the floor. When she didn’t get the clue that she needed to back up and try something else, I just held down the down button for backwards and she totally backed up like a remote control car. I just pushed the right arrow button and she turned in that direction and I let it go and she took off. That was so awesome!When I felt that I had seen enough I decided to go ahead and use the remote to return her back to her charging station. She immediately responded (didn’t seem to want to respond to the remote commands when she was in another room, though). Once you push the button to send her home to charge, she will start moving slower. I think this is just the devices way of being very accurate in homing in on her docking station so that she can properly align for a proper charge. And speaking of our proper charge when I first unpackaged her I had to put her on the charger to charge her fully as it is recommended in the instructions before use. And I noticed at some point the orange light wasn’t flashing which is what tells you she’s charging. So I just hit the auto button as if I was going to send her out to suck up my dirt… And after she got a couple feet away from the dock I just hit the return button on the remote so that she could get on the dock properly. Work like a charm… didn’t have any issues with the charging stopping at that point.So I really can’t comment on longevity for the battery or parts. But I will say it would be wise to purchase spare brushes and filters for down the road just so that you have them when you need them. Because these things do wear down with use. The more you use it the quicker it’s going to wear down. Just a heads up. But these are not a “one-time purchase and forget about it,” just like most bagless vacuums require maintenance and upkeep.There was some damage to the box that it came in…. Not sure if it matters or not.If anything changes I will try to remember to come back and update this review. I did purchase an extra 2-year warranty just to be on the safe side.

Customer Review: I previously bought a Deebot for use on our main level floor, where we spend most of our time at home. It works great and connects with our Google Home. But we run it in the middle of the weekdays because it’s pretty noisy. Still, we really like the benefits of a robotic vacuum. So, we thought we might try it on our lower level. I set it up downstairs, but found that, while it seemed to pick up dirt, the back end bounced quite a bit over the berber carpet, which isn’t an issue on the main floor which is hardwood with only one entry rug.So, we went about looking for an alternative for downstairs. We really wanted something that can connect with our Google Home, so that limited our options within our budget. There were lots of great reviews of iRobot products for carpet, but I had a hard time with the price. There were a few other brands, as well, but they were obscure brands, and I didn’t want to be stuck with an expensive vacuum and no customer service.Eufy was a brand I kept in mind as I shopped because we’d had a lot of experience with their parent brand, Anker. They’ve always sold us a great product at a reasonable price, and importantly, if a product failed for any reason, we’d experienced great customer service. I finally decided I’d pull the trigger on the RoboVac 30C because it had the features we wanted.I ordered it from Amazon on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Black Friday pricing, but it was still very competitive over the deeply discounted Roomba models *(see below).It arrived on Sunday, so very quick shipping via Amazon Prime. We set it up right away. The first, VERY OBVIOUS thing we noticed… It’s quiet* (see below). Way quieter than the Deebot. As we had hoped, it also picked up dirt from the carpet easily and without bouncing.The magnetic strips also helped to avoid another pitfall of the Deebot… We have these chairs with unusual bases that are low enough on the edges for the vacuums to drive themselves up on, then there’s a hole about 3 inches from the edge that creates a cliff for the vacuum to get hung up on. Both vacuums will do that, but the Eufy 30C has those strips which it won’t cross. Put the strips around the base of the chairs, and no hangups.The only issue right now is that, unfortunately, the Eufy app doesn’t play with Google Home very well. We are assuming that will get fixed. And if it doesn’t, the app works pretty well as a stand alone, which is the next best thing, so I won’t dock any stars for that.Overall, I am extremely pleased with this vacuum so far. It does clean very well and doesn’t have any problem doing approximately 400 square feet on a single charge around furniture and other odds and ends on the floor.*Customer service : Many vendors will contact Amazon customers shortly after purchase of one of their products to make sure all is well. Eufy did this. I thought I’d give them a preliminary review because I wanted to let them know that things were going well so far. I mentioned that it worked great (didn’t know about the Google home issue, yet, but I was overall pleased). I mentioned as an aside that it was a tiny bit annoying that it arrived on Sunday and the Cyber Monday deal made a significant price difference. Still, I liked it enough that I wasn’t going to be too annoyed. I certainly wasn’t going to try to return it and buy it again to get the better price. A couple days later, they thanked me for my comments… And refunded me the difference in price. They definitely didn’t have to. But it was pretty awesome of them.*Noise level: My hubby set up the schedule for the RoboVac 30C. He decided to go with the same schedule as the Deebot, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the middle of the day. But instead of setting it up for 12:01 pm, he set it for am. It was running in the middle of the night and we didn’t know it for 2+ weeks. I discovered it when I decided to make sure to have the app on my phone too and saw the scheduling error. To be fair, we sleep on the upper level of our modified split level house and the RoboVac is on the lower level, but I have ears like a bat, and had no idea. And yes, it’s cleaning – – I’ve been cleaning out the dust bin for it regularly. Definitely wouldn’t have been that way with the Deebot. So, yeah. It’s quiet.

Customer Review: Let me start by saying I HATED robot vacuums before getting this. I had bought an early model from another brand, and it would randomly run until it hit something turn and repeat. This was basically useless. It never really cleaned, and was constantly stuck, or ran out of batteries before finding its way back to the base. This couldn’t be more different.Setup: I was tentative from the start. But, I told it to start mapping and forgot about it. 15 minutes later I saw it on the base and assumed I never started it or it failed, so I opened the app and saw a highly detailed map of my house. I was amazed. It had mapped and returned to the base so quick I assume it didn’t work. I used my phone and assigned room boundaries to the map, put a DO NOT GO zone over the basement stairs to be safe, and setup the app to auto vacuum at 6am on M/W/F.Running: I have had only one time it needed intervention. It sucked a small cat toy into the roller and detected the strain on the motor and stopped, asked for help. It took about 60 seconds to open the roller, remove it, remove the toy, and put it back together. It resumed the process and finished. I have had it for months and that is the only time I have intervened.Vacuum quality: Each time I empty the bin I am horrified at the amount of dust and cat hair that it is picking up. It is running 3x a week, and in one week it takes a kitten worth of hair off the hard wood, and enough dust to make you queasy looking at it. It is a powerful vacuum, it gets the entire house when it runs, and does a great job, but it is quiet enough to run without waking anyone up.Pros: Setup, simple. Set and forget. Empty once a week or two or three. Almost no human intervention required. I don’t prep for vacuuming, don’t tidy up, don’t do anything. It just works and works well. Lidar constantly updating the map, it rarely touches anything, so it doesn’t scratch walls and furniture, it uses sensors and lidar to “see” the obstacles and work around them.Cons: It takes a recharge to fully do the house. We work from home and I can’t tell it the order to vacuum. So sometimes our offices are the last rooms, and by the time it runs, recharges and starts the second half I am already working and it wants to come vacuum my office. If I could set the order of room vacuuming it would be literally perfect. That is the ONLY con I can possibly think of. Seriously, it is THAT good. I don’t know what the $1000+ models can do that this can’t.

Customer Review: Wow can I say it again! Just WOW. I bought this little thing for my mother for Christmas, sadly she passed away before I could give it to her. Honestly I was going to return it and get my money back, but decided why not give it a try, and I am so happy I did . This thing is a workhorse I have 2 very hairy cats who shed like crazy I also have very thick deep carpeting in my home. Well not a problem for this robot vac. It was easy to set up and it mapped my house on the first time around. I ran it on eco the first time and it did an ok job but it was a suggestion to run it on low the first time. My second run was amazing. I let it go and 55 minutes later my carpets were clean, including the clumps of hair my cats deposit all over the house everyday so I set it up to run @ 6 am everyday and like clockwork at 6 am every morning it just goes. I would definitely recommend this little robot vac to everyone as I am amazed at how well this gets my floors clean . The app is easy to use and the vac is really quiet while running well worth the price I paid.

Customer Review: I bought this because I had a previous, more expensive Robot vac and mop solution and hated it. I’ve had the previous device for a year, and spent a good chunk of money on it, only to have it be loud, hard to clean, hard to maintain, and it just didn’t work very well.When I finally got sick of wrestling with it, I asked Copilot for recommendations and this guy was at the top of the list. At half the price of the previous device, this seemed like it was worth a try.First, the documentation is awesome. There’s a large quick start card that’s easy to ready, easy to follow, and actually works for quick set up and mapping. The manual is great too – the parts list and illustrations are on a different sheet, so you can easily read the instructions and refer to the illustrations at the same time – which means when you go to do maintenance, it’s easy to follow and figure out. There’s a clear maintenance schedule – when to clean, when to replace – and when I walked through it all to make sure I understood, easily and quickly found all the parts and could follow all the instructions.Mapping my 1400 sq foot house took 15 or 20 minutes, and there weren’t any issues. Then I went into the software, named and organized the cleaning schedule, clicked the button and shazaam.The device itself is very quiet. I probably wouldn’t run it while sleeping, but you can easily watch TV without having to turn up the volume. Both the side brush and the mops swing out, so I got great coverage under the edges of cabinets, along the edges of floors, and around table legs, etc. The sweeper fins are great – not brushes, instead they’re soft rubber fins, so pet hair doesn’t tangle up. The mop heads provide great coverage and do a great job with damp mopping and spot cleaning, with good floor contact – but it flawlessly recognized even very thin carpets and mats and didn’t try to mop them.Best value for sure, so much better than the more expensive device I struggled with for a year. Customer Review: We have purchased originally Q7 and loved it but it was bumping a little bit around some places and running over some items. It is a great sale now on this brand and we decided to return the Q7 and upgrade to Q10 which does much better job avoiding the objects and have some other extra features. The machine is about one inch larger in diameter but still fits everywhere where the Q7 could get into. I think it’s a great deal for such a high quality design and reliability plus the maps are very customizable so you can tweak it to perfection. We could not believe how much dust it pulls out of the carpets even after multiple times. We never realized that there is so much dust growing and collecting. The mopping function with vibrator is great and carpet sensors do a great job.

Customer Review: I bought the Roborock 7 months ago (June 2025), and as of today (February 2026) it will not vacuum correctly. It does not pick up simple dirt (no suction from vacuum), now it does not recognize my house and it’s so loud, that I can’t run it when home due to loudness! As to before it was super quiet & I could run while home with no bother. I have a cat, so between the cat hair and my long hair, in the beginning (first 5 months), it would vacuum perfectly and pick up smoothly! I would come home to clean floors!! But I notice 6 months in, it was starting to make very loud noise when it starts, then it eventually stopped picking up hair and simply daily dirt that your floors collect. I bought this specific vacuum because it said it works on pet hair, obviously not!! I spent $300+ for this vacuum just to work properly for six (6) months – very heart breaking. I bought it because reviews seem to work well – but it’s been completely opposite for me after just 6 months of owning it. I clean the vacuum after each use, which was set to 3 times a week, but now set to daily to “try” to vacuum what it can. I find myself going back to old school – broom and mop! When I take off my shoes, when I walk on my floors, I can feel the dirt on the bottom of my feet cause the vacuum didn’t pick up anything. Unless you want to spend your money for something to work just six months, then don’t buy! You will find yourself disappointed that you invested in something that doesn’t work. I sure do hope this vendor reaches out to me to make it right – but i doubt it.

Customer Review: This is my second robotic vacuum I have had, but is most clearly my favorite. I love being able to come home and look at the freshly cleaned lines. The mapping feature works well and the app is very intuitive to use. My mom just got a roomba and I can say this outperforms hers in every way. The mopping works much better than the last brand I had. I have mostly LVP but some rugs on the main level I use this, and I was concerned about this getting the rugs wet, but it has smart features where it does the carpet first and then mops, making this a great option. Customer Review: I’ve had it for over 6 months and I can honestly say this is a life changing product for me. Yes it is expensive but honestly so worth it. I tell everyone about it! Snag it on sale and you’re good to go!I have a toddler and a dog, so my floors are always covered in crumbs and dog hair. I run the vacuum function a couple times a week and aim to use the mop function at least once a week or as needed. Aside from moving items out of the way when I need to do a deep clean, and ensuring the water tank is ready, it really is a set it and forget it type of thing. The app is easy to use, from making the map of your home to setting cleaning routines and checking the device maintenance.It is especially helpful after hosting parties or large groups where your floors will get dirty quickly. I clear the way for the robot and get to work cleaning the dishes while the robot vacuums and mops other areas of the house. Multitasking at its finest! I will even prep the house and set the routine before I leave the house for the day and I come home to beautifully clean floors.I will say, the mopping is most effective if you select double mopping. The first few times I only selected single mopping and found the floor was not as clean as I’d like. I used plain tap water initially but eventually bought the Roborock brand cleaning solution to add to the water tank and found it eliminates any musty odor from the mopheads (even after washing and drying) and leaves no residue on the floor.I find the vacuum power to be very effective and I’m always satisfied with how clean both rugs and hard flooring are.So far I’ve have no maintenance issues and after over 6 months of heavy use, the original dust bag is finally almost full! I bought replacement bags and mop heads from Amazon. They’re knockoffs but seem to be great quality. I’ve replaced the mop heads once so far as over time they do tend to wear down, which is to be expected.

Customer Review: Initial one-week-in review. Will update if anything changes.The Eufy 15C is my first go-round with robovacs. I did quite a bit of research and wanted to strike a balance between functionality and budget. My goal was to cut out some sort of chore as much as possible in an effort to free up time, as our young family seems to have a schedule requiring only the most adept acrobatics to even have a slim hope of accommodating. We vacuum on a borderline constant basis due to pets in the house, children who like to destroy things and create messes, as well as me simply being allergic to nearly everything in existence.The Eufy works on a somewhat random pattern. When I fired the gizmo up at first I found myself sitting there simply watching it and feeling rather convinced it wouldn’t be able to cover a whole room due to the random stab at directions it was taking. It ultimately covered all tracks and I found myself growing more “trusting” of it getting the job done. This was helped by me staging some crushed cheerios in different piles around the kitchen and letting it run unattended. When I returned a bit later, it was still doing laps and all of the cheerio piles were done. Fancy. We don’t have many carpeted areas in the house (just the two upstairs bedrooms), but I let it run in those rooms unattended. When I returned the vacuum patterns were random and all over the place, but covered the entire span of the rooms. Given how much time had elapsed since I left the vacuum I didn’t expect it to be done already — it was still running but it was clear via the carpet patterns that it had hit every area during its pass. Good stuff.I was hesitant to go the “C” route with it being wifi-connected as (tin foil hat moment) I work in IT and question devices connecting to my wifi that arguably may not need to be. I found the app to be easy to set up and opted for a consistent schedule to kick things off. So far, so good. I’ve been keeping an eye on my DNS server logs as well and to date I haven’t seen any suspicious behavior of the Eufy (truth be told I haven’t seen any traffic at all outside of the initial login of my Eufy account), which was nice to see as I was expecting to firewall the thing into oblivion, but it seems to be largely unnecessary so far.Some other models I looked at were controlled exclusively by smart phones alone. This 15C comes with a remote on top of the smart phone capability. I find the remote is a nice added touch as there are times I have my phone elsewhere charging and I want to kick off a vacuum session outside of the scope of the set schedule, so it’s nice being able to punch a button on the remote and let it rip. Another area this comes in handy is if someone is at my house watching my kids (in-laws for example) and a mess needs cleaned up. Whoops, owners not home, smart phones not home, thus no way to control it — enter remote. They really should be standard on all robovacs as I consider it downright foolish to not include a simple remote, but it was nice seeing the Eufy came with it despite the smart phone capability being existent as well.Overall the thing does a good job and it’s great not having to run the bigger vacuum on a constant basis. It runs on a schedule and does its job. It’s much quieter than I expected. Not “run at 3 am” quiet for fear of waking up the kiddos, but still quieter than I expected.In terms of the actual vacuuming performance, I’d say it’s pretty darn good. As I said we’re running this on a daily basis. Now, please understand we’re not running through the woods and tracking in an obscene amount of dirt intentionally, nor are we brushing shaggy pets prone to heavy shedding in the middle of the living room every hour, but I’ve made it a point to empty the dust bin from the Eufy at some point every day so it’s ready to go for the next scheduled run. Every single time I empty it, it’s nearly full. I have no idea where this thing is finding all this dirt, but it’s a testament to the vacuuming capability of the unit itself. From now on it appears our former vacuum will be downgraded to be for steps only.Downsides? Eh, if anything, the need to empty the bin on a pretty consistent basis. It comes with the territory though as these devices are inherently smaller than the large canister vacuums. Nothing that can be done about that so it’s difficult to really ding the robovac in this category, but it’s something worth mentioning and be aware of.Beyond that I can’t find any complaints to note. It does its job and does it well.P.S. – Having a robot vacuum may or may not instigate a cleaner house beyond the scope of simply vacuuming. We told our kids toys need to be cleaned up or the vacuum will “get their toys” in the morning (9 AM schedule) and it’s prompted a pretty swift cleanup job every night before bed. It takes far less arguing than it did in the past, and that, I’m, pretty okay with. 🙂

Customer Review: (Update 12/17/25: Changing my review rating as the company has been amazing to work with. After this review, I was contacted by the support team. They are working on firmware to address the height issues. For me, the key to a good tech company is the support and they have been very responsive. After spending some time with E25, I can confidently say the roller mop is the way to go. Other designs with spinning pads should be considered obsolete. The way this thing cleans the roller as it goes, simply cannot be beat and is extremely efficient. Spinning pads are rotating dirt on your floor, simple as that. This unit also creates a nice 3D map, and does it extremely quickly. It never gets lost, and it always knows exactly where it is in the house. I will further update this review as the E25 firmware progresses.)Ok, this thing has some pretty great tech. The mapping is awesome. The height however is a serious problem that eufy refuses to fix. (I connected with support). It does not clean under kitchen cabinets along the toe kick… they know about it and have no plans to change it. It treats our couch as a wall, and won’t go under that either. Just idiotic. Not sure how this thing is getting good reviews considering these glaring problems. Stay away if you want under your cabinets clean. Cant believe I even need to say that….

Customer Review: This is a very nice unit for the cost! We also own a Robock S7 Ultra Max and wanted a secondary unit for our finished basement to prevent the need to carry a unit up and down stairs. This fit the bill perfectly. It is quick and quiet and does a good job. Setup was a breeze, it took about 3 minutes to get it going and came with enough charge to clean a couple rooms to test it out.The only drawback is that it does not lift the mop head as our other unit does (which I’m sure contributes to the much lower cost.) This is important because it limits its ability to “climb” over certain thresholds. This isn’t a major problem, but a very minor inconvenience. The enclosed base unit empties the dust bin efficiently and quickly.The app offers a nice range of features for scheduling cleanings and creating different zones for cleaning, however, some of the wording for options can be unclear. (i.e. if you want to turn off either the mop or the vacuum capability for a cleaning plan, you choose “Close” rather than “off” for the respective function.)Good product, happy with the purchase

Customer Review: I have had my robot friend, Simon, for a week. First impressions upon opening the box was an “Oooo Aahhh”. The directions said to let your new robot friend charge overnight before first use, but of course, I ran him around immediately to just see how he works! He worked for about ten minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to his home (charging station), but it turns out, he can find his own way home just fine. I recommend that you do take a few minutes to read the directions and familiarize yourself with the remote. It took about 4 hours or so for Simon to fully charge, then I turned him loose. Let me just say, I thought my floors were clean, or, at least, pretty clean. As it turns out, they were not. They were not clean at all. Simon has picked up so much fur, dirt, dust, it’s unbelievable. My floors have literally never looked better! They are CLEAN. For real clean. I’ve always had a hard time cleaning under the bed, but now I don’t have to worry about it at all, because my robot friend takes care of it.I have all hardwood floors and tile. I also have a few throw rugs, some thick, some thin. Simon does a perfect job on the floors, and has no problems navigating over the throw rugs (though he might turn up a corner, but he will run back over it and still get it clean). I don’t think your robot friend would work very well if you have a lot of or mostly carpet. If you have hardwood or mostly hardwood, you will love your new robot friend.Simon mostly gets from room to room okay – the “up” entry points he cannot do on his own. For example, he cannot get over the hump into my kitchen, but he can get down the hump. He also cannot get over the hump to get in the bathrooms. This is actually fine for me, because I prefer to control when he goes into the kitchen anyway so that I can shake off the rugs and/or pick up the cat food and water bowls and any shoes or other things that might be on the floor. I just put a bar stool in his way to keep him from exiting the kitchen when it’s time for him to clean in the kitchen.Simon will clean for about 3 or 3.5 hours. He does not have a “plan” so to speak, not like a person would say go from corner to the center of the room, but he is still very thorough, and obviously, his plan is way better than mine since my floors are so much cleaner than they ever were when I was in charge. My advice is to just trust the process and let your robot friend find his way around on his own! Just make sure that you pick up any cords, especially small cords like phone charging cords, and shoe laces or the like, so that he doesn’t accidentally grab onto something he shouldn’t. Simon also has sensors so that when he comes to a piece of furniture or a wall, he will slow down so as to gently bump it before he turns off into a new direction. I have also noticed that if he comes into contact with a chair or table leg, he will often go in a circle all the way around the leg to clean around it.Once your robot friend is done doing your dirty work for you, he will go back home on his own. If your robot friend cannot find his way home, you may not have provided him enough space. Is that any way to treat your new best friend?? Make sure that he has several feet of clear space in front of his charging station, and that there are a few feet of clear space on the sides of the charging station as well. Also, make sure to empty out his dust bin after every use.One of the fortunate side effects of having my new robot friend, is the “give a mouse a cookie” effect it seems to have had. Give a person a clean floor, and the person may say oh, it looks so clean in here, let me pick up this shirt and put it away. The person then notices that the bathroom trash can is full; since the floors look so nice, the bathroom should be clean, too *cleans bathroom*, and so on.The only thing about my new robot friend, which isn’t enough to bother me at all, is that he is, well, he’s not super loud, but he’s not very quiet either. So, if you are watching tv, you may need to turn it up just a bit if you are running your robot friend while you’re at home. Well worth it for the service he provides, though.Overall, I do recommend this little robot. I am very pleased with this purchase.
