In line with other bits I’ve used in the past, I expected the two bits I was repeatedly using to dull to the point of uselessness part-way through the project. Much to my surprise, both bits survived and still cut practically like they are new.Bottom line, if you are using these bits to drill into mild steel with a drill press set at a slower speed and generous application of cutting oil, these bits are a fantastic choice. That was the best performance I got out of the 6 I used that day. One bit was done after one hole. I tried different drill speeds to try to keep the heat down but none of these stayed with it for more than one post (4 holes) without a lot of effort on the last hole. I gave two stars since T-posts are typically 80+ Rb hardness and these were reasonably priced. I will be buying something else to finish the project which has many more holes to drill.Update 09/13/2023:Seller responded almost immediately with an offer of full refund. I gladly accepted and explained that I had already bought another set of M35 HSS drill bits from another supplier and a more expensive set of M42 HSS bits from a third supplier. I will compare the two new purchases with the remaining 4 pieces of this order when I make it back to the fencing project in another part of the state in two weeks.
