Customer Reviews
Shark is my all time favorite. This is my 3rd one. Just wanted an upgrade now that we have 2 cats and another kiddo (my current one is 4 years old and fine, I’m taking it to my office to replace my annoying Dyson). With 5 boys, I have zero time to constantly sweep crumbs, dirt, etc. The Shark lets me just vacuum up everything at the end of each day and is can clean up everything!!!! My Dyson was so low that it couldn’t even suck up a cheerio… the Shark is so easy to move, has zero assembly, and vacuums everything (Cheerios, cheese it’s, gold fish, coco puffs, chips) fast!
— Amazon Customer
Even though it doesn’t hang on the wall… It’s very convenient. We have two large hairy dogs and this thing is sucking up hair balls all over the place. You do have to cut the hair off the roller, but that doesn’t take very long. This was a good purchase. Hopefully it will last a long time.

Customer Reviews
Listen, I write reviews so people can get an honest (completely my opinion) based review. I write reviews for pretty much everything I purchase, especially if I was going back and forth with myself before buying because the reviews are all over the place or if there aren’t many reviews to base a purchase off of.I am going to start by prefacing that I am typically THE CHEAPEST person when it comes to buying things, because I am not rich nor do I have time to get products that simply do not work as described, send them back, etc. SO, I’d rather get it right the first time, usually from reading others’ reviews.I purchased this Shark Cordless Vacuum, not because it’s the newest one out on the market, but because after spending HOURS and even DAYS researching different cordless vacuums, this one stuck out to me for the amazing suction it has, even on the ECO setting. When I first used the vacuum, I was not familiar with the settings, so I was using it on the auto-detect feature, and it worked really well, not super loud, but when it detects “dirt” it does get a little louder, not much though. It died fairly quickly on that setting though, but I was able to vacuum my living room and kitchen completely. (I have a 1,500 sq. ft. house). The next day, I did it on ECO mode, and it seemed to pick up everything even though the suction/vacuum sounds extremely low or like it’s not picking anything up. But it was ! I made sure to vacuum rooms I didn’t vacuum the day before just to make sure. I did use all 3 settings, ECO, the high setting, and auto-detect… it lasted the whole time I vacuumed. I did 2 bedrooms, the living room, the hallway, the kitchen, etc. and it still had battery life left and I could have kept going.I waited to buy this until Prime Day and to be honest, I almost backed out, because even on sale, it was $400. BUT, my birthday was coming up and since having my kids, I never buy myself anything nice anymore, so I decided to purchase this vacuum, and I love it! I’ve used it every day since I’ve gotten it, mainly for fun at this point, because I have an obsession with vacuuming anyways. I’ve never owned a cordless vacuum before, and after my research, it seems like ALL cordless vacuums have poor battery life. I still love my bagless Eureka corded vacuum ($60 on sale), but I needed something that was more flexible and able to fit into smaller spaces. The auto-empty is a nice feature as well, and for me, it’s just an added bonus because I don’t mind having to dump the canister after every use… now I don’t have to, it does it for me!If you’re debating on a stick cordless vacuum that has a powerful suction, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU, coming from a girl who has owned several (cheaper) vacuums… this one will not disappoint!
— Amazon Customer
I did a lot of research before buying this and glad I did. It’s my first cordless and, maybe I just got lucky but I couldn’t be happier with it. It has plenty of suction power. You name it and it sucks it up from cat hair to kibble, cheerios to rice. It has a sensor that “knows” when it’s on carpet and automatically the vacuum increases power. Then when it gets on vinyl/smooth flooring it knows and and automatically lowers the power a bit but still easily sucks up everything without flinging it back. It also has sensors and knows when you get close to a wall and automatically increases power so it gets everything close to the wall. The other thing it has sensor(s) for is that it “knows” is when it is sucking up more dirt in a particular spot and so also speeds up to be sure it gets it all. All that speeding up when needed and then slowing down, is to save battery power without sacrificing cleaning. I’ve run it for about 30 minutes in that “auto” mode and still had a little bit of battery power left. You can manually set it to a constant low or high power but I’ve left it on the middle, automatic power detect setting and let it decide how much power to use and when to use it (or not). It does such a good job on that setting that I see no reason to change it. I suspect on a constant high setting your battery would run out of juice pretty quickly, probably in 15 minutes or so. I also find that I use the flex wand more than I thought I would. Great for getting under beds or whatever without bending over so much to do so.When you’re finished vacuuming, just stick it on the docking station and the docking station sucks out the dirt from the vacuum cleaner and puts that dirt in a docking station container. When docked, it also recharges the battery. That dock station container holds a lot so you don’t need to empty it very often maybe once a month or so, if that much depending on your situation. When you do need to empty the docking station container, it easily disconnects from the docking station with one hand. Take the container and hold it over garbage can, push a lever and the bottom opens up and dumps everything in garbage can.I wish it came with more attachments. Mine came with two and neither had a brush which I really would like to have. I also wish there was some onboard way to carry one or more of the attachments on the vacuum itself. I knew these things weren’t including when I bought it so no stars off.

Customer Reviews
This is my first cordless vacuum cleaner, and I am impressed. The suction is amazing. And the battery life is long enough for me to do my entire house when used in the lower mode. Naturally, when you use it in the highest mode, the suction is stronger so your battery life is shortened. This vacuum is lightweight and comes with all the attachments you could ever want. It’s so easy to maneuver and turns on a dime.I love the stand-up feature, so I don’t have to go find a corner to lean the vacuum against. The LED screen shows how much battery life is left. Also so great that it can transition from rugs to floor without changing any settings. So far a great value for the money I spent. It picked up dirt and dust that I didn’t know I had.The packaging was superb. It was easy to put together and very easy to use.
— Amazon Customer
The media could not be loaded. This cordless vacuum turned out to be far more capable than I expected. It feels incredibly powerful — I can literally feel it almost pulling the carpet up as I use it. In just a few minutes, it collected an impressive amount of dust and small debris that I didn’t even realize was there. Despite the strong suction, it’s surprisingly lightweight and easy to maneuver. I also love the retractable pipe and the fact that the hand piece detaches to work as a small handheld vacuum, which is perfect for quick cleanups and tight spaces. If you want serious cleaning power in a convenient, cordless design, this vacuum is absolutely worth it.

Customer Reviews
I’ve been using my Shark Cordless vacuum for a few months now. I still love it. I was waiting to make sure it kept working before reviewing. So far, so good. I haven’t had the best luck with the less expensive cordless vacuums. One was so hard to clean I just sent it back. Another had a problem with the rollers not spinning. I managed to keep it going for 2 years but always presented problems. This one is easy. The rollers stop the nanosecond a problem is detected and nothing has gotten wrapped up in them. This one is not so expensive that I couldn’t afford it and is what I was looking for. It seems durable and hopefully it will last more than a few years. It’s easy to use, lightweight and empties very easily. Just hold it over the garbage can and push the button. Nice. It’s also easy to charge. I just plug it in next to a wall and let it charge. My only complaint is actually that the charge barely lasts long enough. I have 1204 sq. ft. on 3 levels. I use a larger, corded vacuum for the top level that has 2 carpeted bedrooms. So, I’m only vacuuming the hard floors on the 2nd level (with some throw rugs) and the carpeted living room on the ground floor. Also 18 total carpeted steps. So, I wish the charge would last another 10-15 minutes for a more complete job. That said, it works so well, that I’m still very happy. The best part is that it’s small enough and light enough to make cleaning the stairs a lot less of a chore than with a full-sized regular vacuum. The rollers pull strongly and the suction is quite adequate. Not overwhelmingly so but does the job. I have 2 cats and need to be able to have a handy device especially for the steps where they love to play.
— Amazon Customer
I wanted a lightweight cordless vacuum that could go from floor vac to hand vac. I researched my options and settled on this one. We have a cat and also are allergic to cats (go figure) so really wanted something to get the cat hair under control.Unbeknownst to me when I ordered this, not only do we have a cat but we also had a major flea situation (I can’t bring myself to use the word ‘infestation’). I ripped this lil’ Shark out of the box and immediately started vacuuming, and have used it almost daily for the past three weeks.Really impressed with the suction, charge, ease of use, and ease of emptying. It’s easy to transition it from a floor vac to a hand vac, and the pet hair attachment and crevice tool seem good. I wish there was a place on the device to store the extra tools, because I’m just wandering around from room to room carrying them in a plastic bag for whenever I need to swap them in and out. Also a little annoying that I sometimes have to power off and on when it gets unhappy with one of the throw rugs and the floor brush stops spinning. But overall, I love it!I have two Dysons, a Roomba, and a shop vac, and this one has been getting by far the most use. I’m shocked and horrified by how much dust and fur it picks up every day. Gross but satisfying (and fleas are now at bay!!).

Customer Reviews
This lightweight vacuum was purchased for our elderly Aunt who is in her late 80s. She needed something easy to use and light weight. After tying several different vacuums we found this one which she said works the best. The suction is good and picks up the dog hair. It’s light weight and is easy to put back on its charger station. I would recommend for the price and quality for anyone looking.
— Amazon Customer
Don’t waste your $ on one of the myriad of cheap stick vacuums that are produced by companies with names that seem to have been created by mixing up alphabet letters. You know the ones – here today, gone before the battery on your new “fantastic” purchase is lasting 10 minutes. Been there, done that – twice. In the price/value realm – this is a true winner. Light, excellent performance on both carpet and tile, quick charge time in a great docking station. With 2 labs that produce more stray hair than you think possible – you know the rest of the story! Ideal for my 850 sq ft condo, never an issue with battery life – though I do suspect that if you’re in a place much larger than 1250 – the run time may become an issue. Only unfortunate aspect is that there are no accessory tools for when a brush or crevice tool at the end of a hose would be great. If you have mostly carpet, this is not a substitute for a true “deep clean” carpet vacuum, but it sure comes awfully darn close. Make this your obvious choice.

Customer Reviews
Its easy to use, powerful and smooth on hard floors and carpets. Battery life is good for quick daily cleaning,Highly recommend!
— Amazon Customer
This cordless stick vacuum has more power than others I have tried, yet fortunately does not eat up my floor mats the way my most powerful (and expensive) stick vac does. I find that economical battery vacs like these are great for quick touch-ups, but they really don’t have the suction power of more expensive models. That being said, I like that the battery on this unit is removable so that it can be charged anywhere, and the vacuum is light and easy to maneuver. Getting it up and down my stairs is so easy. The green light really does catch details that one might miss otherwise. Overall, a good choice if you are looking for a modestly priced, secondary vacuum.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Extremely powerful and consistent suction.
- XL dust cup reduces interruptions.
- Great set of included tools.
- No messy filters to clean.
Cons:
- Heavier and bulkier than the WANDVAC.
- Battery life is still limited (typical for handhelds).
Customer Reviews
Excellent tool. I’ve used it everywhere! A fantastic, light weight handheld vacuum with strong suction. People have said the battery doesn’t last long. That has not been my experience. I have used it on cleaning jobs and in my own home and it last plenty long. I even used it on a very dirty 2 hour job today and it never slowed down one bit. The attachments all work and fit well. The upholstery/dog hair attachment works great too, even on short wire dog hair.
— Amazon Customer
This is a very nice handheld. It’s a little bit bigger than I expected, but the suction is awesome. I previously had a Shark wand vac and it just didn’t do the job. Not too noisy and easy for spot cleans. I look forward to using the upholstery attachment for cat hair. Worth the price.

Best For
Homes with all hard flooring, especially families with kids and pets who track in mud and create sticky spills. It’s not a replacement for a carpet vacuum but is the best solution for maintaining spotless hard floors.

- 2-in-1 vacuum and mop saves time.
- Dirt-Reveal light is incredibly effective.
- Disposable pads are convenient and hygienic.
- Great on pet messes and sticky spills.

Customer Reviews
WOW! I have had a shark vacmop and just upgraded to this model. I THOUGHT my floors were clean, but that blue light reveal shows it ALL! Awesome product, and I LOVE knowing that my floors are actually CLEAN!
— Amazon Customer
The media could not be loaded. One of my favorite household purchases to date! We are a busy family with 4 kids and multiple dogs (who like to get muddy), and this thing keeps up! It is very durable! We have primarily LVP flooring throughout our home. I can use this without vacuuming before, and the pads still manage to collect all the dust and hair and dirt. It has great battery life and is lightweight and so easy to use. Does not take long to charge at all! I have used different mopping floor cleaners if I run out, but the Shark is best and leaves my house smelling great. It is great value for the money, and I have purchased this for gifts and always recommend to those looking for a great vac mop. 10/10!

Complete Buying Guide for Best Shark Vacuum Cordless
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a Shark cordless vacuum, start with your primary needs. Suction power is measured in watts or air watts (AW); higher numbers mean better performance on carpets and deep debris. Battery runtime is critical—30 minutes is standard, but 50+ minutes is ideal for larger homes. Consider floor type; some models have auto-detecting brushrolls for mixed surfaces. For pet owners, look for anti-hair wrap features and HEPA filters. Weight and ergonomics matter for carrying and stairs. Finally, think about versatility—does it convert to a handheld? Does it have a self-empty base?
Budget Planning
Shark cordless vacuums range from under $200 for basic models to over $400 for premium ones with auto-empty bases. Set a budget based on must-have features. The best value often sits in the $200-$300 range, offering strong suction and good runtime. If you want ultimate convenience and have the budget, the auto-empty models are worth the investment. For a secondary, spot-cleaning vac, a handheld like the WANDVAC is under $150.
Final Thoughts
Shark dominates the cordless market for a reason: reliable performance, innovative features, and user-friendly designs. There’s a perfect model for every home and budget. Whether you need a powerful stick for whole-home cleaning, a versatile handheld for your car, or a specialized hard floor cleaner, our top picks deliver. Prioritize the features that solve your biggest cleaning pain points, and you can’t go wrong.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long do Shark cordless vacuum batteries last?
A: Battery life varies by model and mode. Most stick vacuums offer 30-50 minutes on standard/eco mode. High-power or auto-detect modes reduce runtime. The 650W and 600W models we featured can run for 70-75 minutes. Handhelds typically last 10-15 minutes. All batteries are rechargeable, and some have removable packs for convenient charging.
Q: Do Shark cordless vacuums work well on pet hair?
A: Absolutely. Shark designs many models specifically for pet owners. Look for features like anti-hair wrap brushrolls, powerful suction (HyperVelocity), and strong filtration (HEPA). Models like the PowerDetect Pet Plus and PowerPro Plus are exceptional at tackling pet hair on carpets, furniture, and floors.
Q: What is the difference between the Shark IX141 and IX141AMZ?
A: They are essentially the same model. The “AMZ” suffix often denotes an Amazon-exclusive bundle or slight variation in included accessories (like a different crevice tool). Core performance, suction, and runtime are identical. Always check the product page for exact included tools.
Q: Is a self-emptying base worth it?
A: For many, yes. The self-empty base (found on the PowerDetect Pet Plus) automatically empties the dust cup into a sealed container when docked, often holding debris for 30-45 days. This means you rarely touch dirt or allergens. It’s a major convenience upgrade, especially for allergy sufferers or those who hate emptying the cup after every use.
Q: Can Shark cordless vacuums be used on carpets?
A: Yes, most are designed for both hard floors and carpets. Models with motorized brushrolls (like the PowerPro Plus and Freestyle Max) are particularly effective on carpets, agitating and lifting embedded debris. The auto-detecting brushrolls adjust speed for optimal cleaning on each surface without you needing to switch settings.
