It does not pick up simple dirt (no suction from vacuum), now it does not recognize my house and it’s so loud, that I can’t run it when home due to loudness! I have a cat, so between the cat hair and my long hair, in the beginning (first 5 months), it would vacuum perfectly and pick up smoothly! I would come home to clean floors!! But I notice 6 months in, it was starting to make very loud noise when it starts, then it eventually stopped picking up hair and simply daily dirt that your floors collect. I bought this specific vacuum because it said it works on pet hair, obviously not!! I spent $300+ for this vacuum just to work properly for six (6) months – very heart breaking. I bought it because reviews seem to work well – but it’s been completely opposite for me after just 6 months of owning it. I clean the vacuum after each use, which was set to 3 times a week, but now set it to daily to “try” to vacuum what it can. I find myself going back to old school – broom and mop! This was basically useless. It never really cleaned, and was constantly stuck, or ran out of batteries before finding its way back to the base. But, I told it to start mapping and forgot about it. 15 minutes later I saw it on the base and assumed I never started it or it failed, so I opened the app and saw a highly detailed map of my house. I was amazed. It had mapped and returned to the base so quick I assume it didn’t work. I used my phone and assigned room boundaries to the map, put a DO NOT GO zone over the basement stairs to be safe, and setup the app to auto vacuum at 6am on M/W/F.Running: I have had only one time it needed intervention. It sucked a small cat toy into the roller and detected the strain on the motor and stopped, asked for help. It took about 60 seconds to open the roller, remove it, remove the toy, and put it back together. It resumed the process and finished. I have had it for months and that is the only time I have intervened.Vacuum quality: Each time I empty the bin I am horrified at the amount of dust and cat hair that it is picking up. It is running 3x a week, and in one week it takes a kitten worth of hair off the hard wood, and enough dust to make you queasy looking at it. There are 3 or 4 different vacuums being reviewed on this same thread.Update 6\6\25:I noticed today why it tells you you should have six feet open space directly in front of the charging port: when the vacuum is returning home, she will go so many feet out away from the port so that she can turn around and line up to get on the charging nodes. In reality, I don’t think she needs more than 4 ft… But there may be issues with her being able to turn around if there’s anything blocking her. 6 ft is a lot of space, so you might be able to get away with 4 to 5, depending on your setup. Otherwise, you would have to use the remote to manually return her to the station, or pick her up and put her on the charger yourself. Not having the space is not a deal-breaker, it just means you will less of the “auto” features. Today I did let her run until her battery got low and she maneuvered herself back to the charger without any assistance.I also want to say she is doing a pretty job at cleaning. I just let her run around in “Auto Mode” and she worked great. Yes, my robot vacuum is a “she.” I named her Suki, as she “Suki a lot of dirt.” Plus Suki is a name for “loved one,” and I love her already!! I swore up and down I was never going to be one of those people who have one of these… and here we are. And I probably never would have if I had not stayed with my sister and her husband for several months when I first moved to a new State. They have one and I really noticed how much a difference it makes and keeping up with pet hair and everything else.What seemed like really haphazard navigation ended up being a lot more mapped out than it first appeared. While it look like she was just going in random directions with no uniform, I did start to notice that she was not going over the exact same path upon return. So, somehow, it’s working to where I can tell the machine is covering everywhere. It definitely appears to be mapping while it’s in use, but I know it does not store mapping. That’s a big part of the need for Wi-Fi with other robot vacuums. I did notice that a couple people were complaining in the reviews about her constantly vacuuming just the edges by the wall… This is probably because they didn’t realize that she was in that mode. Because you can literally make it so that she focuses only on the borders. There’s quite a few nifty features that you can program the vacuum to do… And it even has a scheduling option so that you can schedule the vacuum to go off at whatever time you want (as well as a way to cancel the schedules if things change). Overall, pretty nifty. It does what I need it to do, and that’s all that matters to me. I don’t need a bunch of fancy features. My apartment is just under 800 square feet; therefore, I don’t need it to do special mapping to try to remember where it left off after a charge. It’s pretty much going to get the whole place on one charge.One MAJOR reason why I selected this, (outside of the lower cost) is because it does NOT require an app or Wi-Fi connection (in fact you absolutely cannot connect this particular vacuum to an app or Wi-Fi, so if that is what you’re looking for this is not the vacuum for you). Sure, with an app you can do things like trigger her to start running before you even get home from work… But, quite honestly, that doesn’t even matter to me. I would have to say that my stand up floor fan is way louder than this thing. The AC unit is louder than this thing. I would assume that some of that has to do with the fact that the suction is not superior in this thing, as it’s only at 2000 (really pricey robot vacuums are around 4,000). However, I have laminate floors (fake wood flooring in a linoleum-type flooring) and the throw rug in my living room is one of those very low profile new kind that are washable, which is comparable to a thick blanket.Speaking of the area rug… This thing had no problem going up and over and onto it regardless what angle she approached the rug. Sometimes she came onto the carpet straight on and other times she came up on to the carpet at an angle. And she didn’t even blink an eye!As stated before, I only took her for a test run and she picked up so much “tuck” in that short timeframe. I was thrilled that she even got all the little itty bitty popcorn pieces from all the styrofoam my furniture and other items were delivered in. It’s like no matter how careful you are taking things out of the boxes those little tiny popcorn pieces get everywhere and they are so impossible to sweep up. Keep in mind I had, just the night before, swept and mopped most of the area that she ran over today in her test run and there was still that much stuff in her canisterThe canister is very easy to remove. You don’t have to flip her upside down or anything. You just push down on the little release button with your thumb and pop it out. That is also where you will find a filter that you can clean out. Read the manual that comes with it throughout. It’s very helpful on how to keep her clean or else she won’t work properly.I love the remote. She got stuck trying to go over packaging from my couches that was on the floor. When she didn’t get the clue that she needed to back up and try something else, I just held down the down button for backwards and she totally backed up like a remote control car. I just pushed the right arrow button and she turned in that direction and I let it go and she took off. That was so awesome!When I felt that I had seen enough I decided to go ahead and use the remote to return her back to her charging station. She immediately responded (didn’t seem to want to respond to the remote commands when she was in another room, though). Once you push the button to send her home to charge, she will start moving slower. I think this is just the devices way of being very accurate in homing in on her docking station so that she can properly align for a proper charge. And speaking of our proper charge when I first unpackaged her I had to put her on the charger to charge her fully as it is recommended in the instructions before use. And I noticed at some point the orange light wasn’t flashing which is what tells you she’s charging. So I just hit the auto button as if I was going to send her out to suck up my dirt… And after she got a couple feet away from the dock I just hit the return button on the remote so that she could get on the dock properly. Work like a charm… didn’t have any issues with the charging stopping at that point.So I really can’t comment on longevity for the battery or parts. But I will say it would be wise to purchase spare brushes and filters for down the road just so that you have them when you need them. Because these things do wear down with use. The more you use it the quicker it’s going to wear down. Just a heads up. But these are not a “one-time purchase and forget about it,” just like most bagless vacuums require maintenance and upkeep.There was some damage to the box that it came in…. Customer Review: “I previously bought a Deebot for use on our main level floor, where we spend most of our time at home. It works great and connects with our Google Home. But we run it in the middle of the weekdays because it’s pretty noisy. Still, we really like the benefits of a robotic vacuum. So, we thought we might try it on our lower level. I set it up downstairs, but found that, while it seemed to pick up dirt, the back end bounced quite a bit over the berber carpet, which isn’t an issue on the main floor which is hardwood with only one entry rug.So, we went about looking for an alternative for downstairs. We really wanted something that can connect with our Google Home, so that limited our options within our budget. There were lots of great reviews of iRobot products for carpet, but I had a hard time with the price. There were a few other brands, as well, but they were obscure brands, and I didn’t want to be stuck with an expensive vacuum and no customer service.Eufy was a brand I kept in mind as I shopped because we’d had a lot of experience with their parent brand, Anker. They’ve always sold us a great product at a reasonable price, and importantly, if a product failed for any reason, we’d experienced great customer service. I finally decided I’d pull the trigger on the RoboVac 30C because it had the features we wanted.I ordered it from Amazon on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Black Friday pricing, but it was still very competitive over the deeply discounted Roomba models *(see below).It arrived on Sunday, so very quick shipping via Amazon Prime. We set it up right away. The first, VERY OBVIOUS thing we noticed… It’s quiet* (see below). Way quieter than the Deebot. As we had hoped, it also picked up dirt from the carpet easily and without bouncing.The magnetic strips also helped to avoid another pitfall of the Deebot… We have these chairs with unusual bases that are low enough on the edges for the vacuums to drive themselves up on, then there’s a hole about 3 inches from the edge that creates a cliff for the vacuum to get hung up on. Both vacuums will do that, but the Eufy 30C has those strips which it won’t cross. Put the strips around the base of the chairs, and no hangups.The only issue right now is that, unfortunately, the Eufy app doesn’t play with Google Home very well. We are assuming that will get fixed. And if it doesn’t, the app works pretty well as a stand alone, which is the next best thing, so I won’t dock any stars for that.Overall, I am extremely pleased with this vacuum so far. It does clean very well and doesn’t have any problem doing approximately 400 square feet on a single charge around furniture and other odds and ends on the floor.*Customer service : Many vendors will contact Amazon customers shortly after purchase of one of their products to make sure all is well. Eufy did this. I thought I’d give them a preliminary review because I wanted to let them know that things were going well so far. I mentioned that it worked great (didn’t know about the Google home issue, yet, but I was overall pleased). I’ve been a iRobot Roomba customer for twenty years, and stubbornly stayed in Roombaland much longer than I should’ve. I finally switched when my last Roomba, a once-top-of-the-line J9+ Combo, fell victim to a known charging base defect that, once broken, made recharging impossible and essentially bricked the unit. Because I was just a bit outside of warranty, iRobot wouldn’t replace my charging / mopping base and offered me $150- toward the cost of replacing it outright from them directly, which they were still selling at that time for another $1,400. I jumped ship, rage-ordered a Saros 10R on the spot, and have never looked back. I’ve owned it for the last month+ and am just gobsmacked by how much better a cleaning machine this Roborock is compared to all the other Roombas I’ve ever owned (numerous models over years). My floors have never been cleaner as the vacuuming and mopping technology this machine employs are exceedingly better than my last Roomba. It just … *works* … does what it’s supposed to, properly, when you expect it to. No more weird ‘I’m stuck’ errors or ‘I’m lost under the dining table / chairs *again* and can’t find my way out even though I’ve been here dozens and dozens of times before’ problems. No more VSLAM technology slowly chipping and scraping the hell out of my expensive walnut furniture. No more being afraid to let it run while I’m away from home because something would inevitably fail with whatever scheduled cleaning it was supposed to be running. This machine is incredible. It is solidly built. It is easy to use and set up. It quickly accurately and effortlessly mapped my home on its first mapping run. Its obstacle avoidance is superior to any other Roomba I’ve owned, and works flawlessly. It avoids bumping into any of my furniture as it is sensitive enough to get right up next to table / desk / sofa / chair / bed legs and clean around them without actually connecting or coming into contact with any of them. It’s just … well, I want to write ‘perfect’ but as nothing can be truly perfect I’ll just write I am at a loss to list anything I have a quibble with. Plus, it’s almost eerily quiet compared to my last Roomba. I can barely tell where it is in my house without looking at the app or scouting for it when it’s working unless it’s very nearby. My dog used to run out of any room my last Roomba entered, but now he just glances at the 10R and continues napping or playing or whatever without fear. My husband complained pretty frequently about how loud our last Roomba was, and I now joke to friends the Saros 10R practically saved our marriage because it’s so much quieter when it’s cleaning. My household is comprised of two adults, one pretty fluffy medium-haired cat, one small short-haired dog, no children, and mostly hard-surface flooring with low-to-medium-pile area rugs and runners in almost every room but the bathrooms. It is brand-new construction and so is without extreme-door-sill or room-threshold height challenges, but I’ve seen my Saros 10R navigate over low-furniture barriers like the base of my console and coffee tables without any difficulty whatsoever using the AdaptLift Chassis feature — that technology is pretty impressive. I have two dogs and two kids, both of whom are teenagers and do not believe in cleanliness. Customer Review: “Excellent product. This is my second roborock. I’m upgrading from the original QRevo that I bought two years ago. I am truly impressed with how much they have improved the robot in the past two years. I loved it so much I got a second Saros 10 RDS for my business.The best improvements are:1. Retracting Lidar System – the robot now comfortably fits under everything – sofas, beds, furniture – to get all the dustbunnies out from every corner. One surprise is that it’s so slim that it actually managed to clean under the dryer as well (all the lint and dust and lost socks [seen from the camera]).2. The on board camera has been an excellent addition. The ability to see pictures of the objects that it’s avoided is genius. And being able to see under beds nad sofas is nice as well. When I’m not home, it’s also a nice piece of mind to see around the house.3. Better ability to climb – the Saros 10 is definitely a lot better at going up slopes (as you can see in the attached video) and going over threshholds. I built a little ramp since my garage is one step down and the Saros 10 has no issues going up and down it to clean the garage and coming back to wash the mop at the base. With the QRevo, I had to babysit it and carry it down the step to the garage and carry it back to get its mop washed everytime. I hope in the next model they increase the height it can go over as there are a few threshholds in my house that it just barely makes it over, but that means about 30% of the time it will fail to go over them if it doesn’t do it at the exact right angle. Also, I wish they would improve it’s high-pile carpet mobility. I have a patch of fake turf in my patio, and the Saros 10 definitely struggles to make it through it so I’ve had to set it to avoid that space.4. RDS system – I don’t know why they don’t offer more options for RDS in other models. The RDS system has been a game changer. With the old QRevo, I was changing the water every other day–to the point that I would rather not use the robot so I wouldn’t have to change the water. Now with the RDS, I can run the robot whenever I want without worrying about changing the water–which the dirty water is just nasty and cleaning out the tank is just tedious. The RDS system has truly made it hassle free. It just works. I have the robot scheduled to clean certain rooms on certain days and I never have to worry about it running out of water. Because of the RDS system, I was able to find a spot under the kitchen sink close to all the water lines. It’s quite a genius set up. I just cut out part of the kickplate and cabinet base so the Saros 10 can come in and out on it’s own and then be out of sight the rest of the time. It’s the most seemles design ever.5. Vibrating Mop – I was really relunctant to get the Saros 10 because of the mopping system. I had read it’s not that great, so I really wanted to stick to the two rotating mops system of the QRevo, but alas, the only RDS model available in the US is the vibrating mop version, so I bit the bullet and got it. And it’s really not that bad or much different from the rotating mops. On the medium setting it is able to achieve a pretty clean result, and on the highest setting, it’s completely thorough.6. Battery life has been excellent and the quick charge function is not a gimmick. I can clean my whole 2000 sq ft house on one charge now, something that would have taken at least one recharge to do with the QRevo. And unlike the QRevo, it doesn’t take 5-7 hours to recharge the battery anymore either.Overall, I am 100% satisfied with the new Saros 10 and can’t wait to see what new features Roborock will come up with in future generations. I’m definitely waiting for the stair climber! The robot is quite expensive if you buy it at full retail price, so I definitely recommend waiting for it to go on sale which is quite frequent. I got mine on sale for $1399 plus Amazon’s 5% rewards back, so it was a pretty good deal.”

We also own a Robock S7 Ultra Max and wanted a secondary unit for our finished basement to prevent the need to carry a unit up and down stairs. This fit the bill perfectly. It is quick and quiet and does a good job. Setup was a breeze, it took about 3 minutes to get it going and came with enough charge to clean a couple rooms to test it out.The only drawback is that it does not lift the mop head as our other unit does (which I’m sure contributes to the much lower cost.) This is important because it limits its ability to “climb” over certain thresholds. This isn’t a major problem, but a very minor inconvenience. The enclosed base unit empties the dust bin efficiently and quickly.The app offers a nice range of features for scheduling cleanings and creating different zones for cleaning, however, some of the wording for options can be unclear. (i.e. if you want to turn off either the mop or the vacuum capability for a cleaning plan, you choose “Close” rather than “off” for the respective function.)Good product, happy with the purchase”

Customer Review: “I have had my robot friend, Simon, for a week. First impressions upon opening the box was an “Oooo Aahhh”. The directions said to let your new robot friend charge overnight before first use, but of course, I ran him around immediately to just see how he works! He worked for about ten minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to his home (charging station), but it turns out, he can find his own way home just fine. I recommend that you do take a few minutes to read the directions and familiarize yourself with the remote. It took about 4 hours or so for Simon to fully charge, then I turned him loose. Let me just say, I thought my floors were clean, or, at least, pretty clean. As it turns out, they were not. They were not clean at all. Simon has picked up so much fur, dirt, dust, it’s unbelievable. My floors have literally never looked better! They are CLEAN. For real clean. I’ve always had a hard time cleaning under the bed, but now I don’t have to worry about it at all, because my robot friend takes care of it.I have all hardwood floors and tile. I also have a few throw rugs, some thick, some thin. Simon does a perfect job on the floors, and has no problems navigating over the throw rugs (though he might turn up a corner, but he will run back over it and still get it clean). I don’t think your robot friend would work very well if you have a lot of or mostly carpet. If you have hardwood or mostly hardwood, you will love your new robot friend.Simon mostly gets from room to room okay – the “up” entry points he cannot do on his own. For example, he cannot get over the hump into my kitchen, but he can get down the hump. He also cannot get over the hump to get in the bathrooms. This is actually fine for me, because I prefer to control when he goes into the kitchen anyway so that I can shake off the rugs and/or pick up the cat food and water bowls and any shoes or other things that might be on the floor. I just put a bar stool in his way to keep him from exiting the kitchen when it’s time for him to clean in the kitchen.Simon will clean for about 3 or 3.5 hours. He does not have a “plan” so to speak, not like a person would say go from corner to the center of the room, but he is still very thorough, and obviously, his plan is way better than mine since my floors are so much cleaner than they ever were when I was in charge. My advice is to just trust the process and let your robot friend find his way around on his own! Just make sure that you pick up any cords, especially small cords like phone charging cords, and shoe laces or the like, so that he doesn’t accidentally grab onto something he shouldn’t. Simon also has sensors so that when he comes to a piece of furniture or a wall, he will slow down so as to gently bump it before he turns off into a new direction. I have also noticed that if he comes into contact with a chair or table leg, he will often go in a circle all the way around the leg to clean around it.Once your robot friend is done doing your dirty work for you, he will go back home on his own. If your robot friend cannot find his way home, you may not have provided him enough space. Is that any way to treat your new best friend?? Make sure that he has several feet of clear space in front of his charging station, and that there are a few feet of clear space on the sides of the charging station as well. Also, make sure to empty out his dust bin after every use.One of the fortunate side effects of having my new robot friend, is the “give a mouse a cookie” effect it seems to have had. Give a person a clean floor, and the person may say oh, it looks so clean in here, let me pick up this shirt and put it away. The person then notices that the bathroom trash can is full; since the floors look so nice, the bathroom should be clean, too *cleans bathroom*, and so on.The only thing about my new robot friend, which isn’t enough to bother me at all, is that he is, well, he’s not super loud, but he’s not very quiet either. So, if you are watching tv, you may need to turn it up just a bit if you are running your robot friend while you’re at home. Well worth it for the service he provides, though.Overall, I do recommend this little robot. I am very pleased with this purchase.
