Customer Review: This is my third Shark vacuum and there is a reason I keep buying them! They just work, period. My daughter is moving into her own apartment for the first time and wanted the same Shark we already had. It doesn’t seem to still be available so I let her take it with her and got a new one for myself. I do also own a lift away but find it a little too heavy to carry around. The super long hose on this item achieves the same thing and is way easier to use. Assembly was very easy and no tools were needed. All of the components just click into place and probably took two minutes to assemble. I have learned over time that the two included attachments are the only ones I really use and both can be stored right onboard the vacuum. I love that both the foam and felt filters can be rinsed in water and do not need to be repurchased. That being said, I usually buy another set anyway so that I can rinse one set and still be able to use the vacuum while they completely dry out. As for the performance, it works really well. The ability to easily adjust the level of suction right from the handle means that I can go from a throw rug, to an area rug, to a wood floor quickly and easily. The swivel operates flawlessly and makes maneuvering a breeze. And the extension of the hose is great. To reach the ceiling, I don’t have to do any heavy lifting or stretching. The dust bin is quite large and is also easy to release and empty. This particular item might not have a tons of bells and whistles, but it just works. For 95% of my tasks, it’s all I need. And it is a great value! Every single one of my Shark vacuums are still working great, and I’m sure this item is no exception. It’s easy to transition to handheld. There’s no extra hose you have to lug around or store. It’s lightweight so moving it up and down my three-story townhouse is easy. It’s also very maneuverable getting around furniture and other items. The suction on this vacuum is amazing. It pulled out so much dirt from my rugs that I had no idea my old vacuum missed. I have a German Shepherd and two long haired cats who all shed a lot. My old vacuum could never get all the fur. I also haven’t had an issue with hair/fur getting stuck in the brushes. Customer Review: This is a long one, but it’s worth the read if you’re doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner:I picked this up in October so I’ve been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you’re wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! I’m able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it’s lightweight. I’m not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It’s really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. Customer Review: I bought a Shark upright vacuum that had Pet in the name. Not sure what pets they tested it on but I’m guessing like turtles and snakes because my dogs hair instantly wrapped itself around the roller brush from end to end like it was designed to do that. Couldn’t even finish one use before I had to cut the hair off and literally comb it out of each and every brush tuft on the roller. Back it went! I searched smeo more and read the descriptions and reviews a little more carefully and decided on this Bissel. It was $100 more than the Shark but was designed specifically to not wrap hair around the roller so I bought it. Very nice vacuum. It’s very well built and everything has a nice quality feel to it. The canister pops off easily and empties easily without having to reach in and pull stuff out. The hose wand also pops on and off easily with the push of a button and the mechanism that holds the wand in place is sturdy which is important with these type of designs as the wand is also the handle so it takes a lot of abuse when using and lifting it and carrying it around. And speaking of carrying it. It’s a high quality vacuum but that quality makes it heavy. It can be pretty tiring on stairs. It has great maneuverability as it swivels and seems to have pretty good suction. Gets a lot of really fine dirt out of my carpets that my old vacuum seemed to be missing. And I’m happy to say. Not a bit of dog hair on the roller brush. It all ends up in the canister and it does a good job of getting it off the carpet. Although with long pet hair getting it up is not the issue. Getting it through the vacuum without catching and wrapping on anything and everything is the issue and this vacuum handles it very well. It has a nice head light that works pretty well. The turbo brush tool is the only one I’ve used so far that actually works and keeps the little brush spinning as you use it. Most stall out if you put even the lightest pressure on them. This one you can use with normal pressure and it just works. The other brush tool has some funky course bristles that make it more like a scrubber and less like a brush. The crevice tool has an LED light in the end that comes on when you attach it. Kind of cool but it has a battery in it that takes up about half the diameter of the tube so this cuts down on the flow. So they made the suction end smaller to match. It works but I’d rather had a normal crevice tool. Also the battery inside the tube means it only fits on it’s storage post in one direction so it’s fiddly to put away until you remember which direction it has to face. More gimmick than useful. The auto cord retract is nice. This is my vacuum for my man cave area but my wife always steals my vacuums since the rest of the house is central vac and she doesn’t always feel like hauling out the big hose and stuff. Fine with me but she NEVER winds the cord back up…or returns it for that mater. I usually find it somewhere in the house with the cord draped over it in tangles. At least with this one so far she pushes the button and lets the cord put itself away…but I still have to go and find it. If you can live with the weight and need a vacuum that can handle long pet hair this is a good choice.
