Customer Reviews
I bought this vaccuum because the price was amazing and it seemed comparable to some other high priced varieties. After using it for the last few months I am OBSESSED and I have purchase one for my son and father, both bachelor’s who live alone and they also love it. It is easy to use, lightweight, rechargeable, low noise, easy to empty the canister and clean. I love the LED light that shows you dust and dirt as you vaccuum- super satisfying! It picks up a really good amount of dust as well as larger pieces like birdseed. It can also be converted into a dustbuster easily. This replaced my huge heavy clunky plug in vaccuum and I will never go back!
This is the best purchase I have made for a cordless vacuum cleaner. It is very versatile and easy to use. I love all the accessories that it comes with. This is much lighter than my previous cordless vacuum which was a different brand. The battery also charges fast and lasts at least an hour on low mode, about 30 minutes on high mode. Works great on both carpet and hardwood/ceramic floors.

Customer Reviews
This is a long one, but it’s worth the read if you’re doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner:I picked this up in October so I’ve been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you’re wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! I’m able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it’s lightweight. I’m not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It’s really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It’s harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I’m very impressed! I wish I had bought this years ago. I will never buy another vacuum from anyone else other than Shark again. Good job, guys! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious little vacuum.
I picked up this Shark Navigator Lift-Away vacuum to replace an older one, and it’s been a big improvement. The suction is strong and does a great job picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair from both carpets and hard floors. One feature I really like is the Lift-Away option, which makes it much easier to clean stairs and tighter spaces without dragging the whole vacuum around. It’s also pretty lightweight and easy to maneuver around furniture. Emptying the dust bin is simple and not messy, which is always a plus.Overall, it’s a reliable vacuum that cleans well and is easy to use throughout the house. Definitely a solid choice if you want something powerful without being overly heavy or complicated.

- ✓ Powerful 12-amp motor
- ✓ Large 2.5-liter dust bag capacity

- ✓ Multiple attachments (crevice tool, dusting brush, etc.)
Why We Recommend It
Canister vacuums like this Eureka are unbeatable for stairs, upholstery, and hard-to-reach areas. The long hose and lightweight body mean you’re not dragging a heavy machine around. It’s particularly effective on hard floors, pulling dirt from cracks and baseboards. The included bags make maintenance simple and mess-free.

Customer Reviews
THIS SMALL VACUUM CLEANER IS LIGHT WEIGHT BUT PLASTIC ISN’T AS GOOD AS MY OLD MIGHTY MIGHT. THE HOSE IS CHEAPLY MADE BUT WORKS FINE FOR MY USE. I DO LIKE THE TOOLS BEING ATTACHED TO THE BODY SO NOT TO LOSE ANYTHING. IT HAS GREAT POWER & IS EASY TO USE. IT HAS SEVERAL TOOLS AS WELL AS A BRUSH FOR DUSTING. IT HAS A LONG ATTACHED CORD & THE HOSE IS LONGER AS WELL.
What do I say about this little vacuum? It is AWESOME, but yet I’m still a teensy bit disappointed? I guess I was hoping for a complete upright replacement, and yeah, it isn’t. I have 2 rugs of short, yet very dense pile that will still need my old upright for a deeper ‘rug beater ‘ clean. That said, this little vac works GREAT on my bare floors (90%) of my home. Sucks dirt and particles I didnt even know I had out from under my baseboards, (using just the wand with no brush or crevice tool , a few pine needles from a ‘live’ Christmas tree 2 years ago came out and paint chips from a reno 7 years ago came out!) I got super nasty dust off my ceiling fans with the little brush attachment thing without significant effort on my part and likewise was able dust my winow blinds with same attachment and minimizing the level of ‘suck’ by opening the adjustment port on the handle. Very impressive! Still, I wish I could vacuum my two nice rugs. It works well on my Home Depot shaggy rug and my Home Depot ‘Oriental’ rug, but yeah either sucks too hard and get stuck on my good rugs or it just skips over the surface and doesn’t suck anything.So. I am still giving 5 stars as a tool to add to my home cleaning arsenal. Truly I am impressed. That said, depending on your rug situation, be aware, it may not be great for every rug type. For me, given 90 percent of my house is hardwood floors or tile, this will be my go to the majority of the time, it gets under most of my furniture and bookcases, it’s pulling stuff out of nooks and crannies on my baseboards and the seams of my couches and recliner, (goodbye Sunday binging TV cookie crumbs) it is sucking up all the dog hair dust bunnies (I have a labrador and a bulldog, although honestly, the bulldog doesn’t shed much but my labrador sure does!) And without mopping, my hardwood has rarely looked this shiny. So, even though I was hoping to completely replace my upright I will say, I am very pleased with the performance of this little vac. For the price? Really, I don’t think you will be dissatisfied. 5 stars after 2 hard core uses (every scenario I could think of to put it through). We’ll see how it goes in 6 months. The extension poles ARE plastic, not metal, if they hold up , we’ll be golden. The plastic doees keep it very light though which is why the ceiling fans weren’t difficult. So I’ll take it. Oh, last thing the attachments and cord stow away nicely, the wand and hose, not so much. I have a bigger utility loset so that doesn’t bother me, but if you need your vacuum to be really ‘tidy’ in storage, you may want to take that into consideration.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Vacuum Cleaners For Floors
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a vacuum for your floors, start with your flooring type. Upright vacuums are typically best for large carpeted areas, while canister models excel on hard floors and stairs. Cordless stick vacuums offer convenience for quick cleanups but may lack the power for deep carpet cleaning. Key features to evaluate include suction power (measured in watts or air watts), filtration system (HEPA filters are crucial for allergy sufferers), weight and maneuverability, dust capacity, and attachment versatility. Also consider noise level if you have a sensitive household.
Budget Planning
Vacuum prices range from under $100 for basic models to over $500 for high-end ones. Set a realistic budget based on your needs. For small apartments with mostly hard floors, a budget of $100-$200 often suffices. For larger homes with mixed flooring and pets, expect to spend $200-$400 for a durable, high-performance model. Remember to factor in long-term costs like replacement bags, filters, and maintenance. A slightly higher upfront cost can save money over time with better durability and washable components.
Final Thoughts
The best vacuum for your floors is the one that matches your specific cleaning routine and home layout. Don’t get swayed by every gimmick—focus on core performance: suction, ease of use, and reliability. Read user reviews for real-world insights, and if possible, test the weight and maneuverability in person. A good vacuum should make cleaning feel less like a chore and more like a quick, satisfying task.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Should I choose a bagged or bagless vacuum for my floors?
A: Bagless vacuums are convenient and cost-effective (no ongoing bag purchases), but they can expose you to dust when emptying. Bagged models contain allergens better and often have larger capacity, but you’ll need to buy replacement bags. For allergy sufferers, a bagged model with a sealed HEPA system is often recommended.
Q: Are cordless vacuums powerful enough for carpets?
A: Modern cordless vacuums have improved significantly, but they generally still lag behind corded models in deep carpet cleaning power. They’re excellent for low-pile carpets and hard floors, but if you have thick, high-pile carpets, a corded upright or canister will deliver better results.
Q: How often should I replace my vacuum’s filter?
A: It depends on usage and filter type. Washable filters should be cleaned monthly and replaced every 1-2 years. Non-washable HEPA filters typically need replacement every 6-12 months. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for optimal performance and air quality.
Q: What’s the difference between an upright and a stick vacuum?
A: Upright vacuums are bulkier but usually more powerful and better for large carpeted areas. Stick vacuums are lightweight, often cordless, and designed for quick cleanups and hard floors. Some stick models convert to handhelds for above-floor tasks. Uprights typically have larger dust capacities.
Q: Can I use the same vacuum for both my home and car?
A: Yes, many vacuums—especially cordless sticks and handhelds—are versatile enough for both. Look for models with detachable handheld units, crevice tools, and upholstery brushes. If you primarily need a car vacuum, check out our guide to the best car vacuums for pet hair for specialized options.
