I have tried a few different 5 pin pedals and can’t seem to get it to work with a pedal so I just use the trigger on the torch….2. the part where you connect the gas line comes loose so you have to use 2 wrenches to disconnect the gas line which is kind of inconvenient. Customer Review: “I think for a cheap machine it has a lot of higher end options. I only purchased it for the capability of aluminum tig welding. I have a spool gun on my other machine but I have a lot of jobs come up where a spool gun just won’t work. I like that it’s small and light enough to carry around if needed. I mainly bought this one over others because it has a push button gun. I was pleasantly surprised at the length of the tig lead. Make sure to buy the extra adapter they recommend in the description so you can use the supplied tig lead and have it work correctly. I thought I could just plug it in since the connections matched but it wouldn’t start an arc or purge the gas and kept flashing a foot pedal image on the main screen. Something about that little adapter makes it work for the button gun. Pros- long tig lead, lightweight machine, easy to use, user friendly screen. Cons- included instructions are useless, ground is a little shorter than I’d like.”

A buddy of mine who is a certified welder, among other skills, agreed that this welder is a true bargain. I was welding on a beat up skid steer bucket. We both thought that I would have to patch the bucket up with 1/8″ or 1/4″ steel, somehow. Not at all. I just kept filling, filling and filling. The job itself was not easy because the bucket had many rips and tears in the steel. So I ground out what I had to and began the difficult and ugly job of trying to repair this bucket. The welder performed so good! The current Adjustment for it worked fantastic and I could easily control the heat. This welder truly is a bargain!”

Customer Review: “This welder is an amazing tool at this price point. First, and most importantly: it actually meets the claimed specifications. You might think ‘why wouldn’t it?’ The answer is that many $100 stick welders you can get on Amazon are dramatically less capable than they claim. One very well known welder brand (Yes, that one) claims 205 amps but actually puts out 160. And the crazy part is, the readout on those other units are designed to mislead you! This one is honest and true. Don’t take my word for it—there are multiple independent video reviews you can easily find online that confirm this. Beyond actually putting out the amperage it says it does, the accessories on this unit are pretty high quality for this price point. Sure, a thousand dollar welder will come with a nicer stinger and clamp. But the stinger and clamp on this one will serve you well! I’ve run pounds and pounds of rods on mine at this point and they’re holding up just fine. And if down the road I need to get new ones, great, that will be a nice investment in improving my equipment. This unit probably won’t run 6010 rods all that well. That’s fine; just use 6011 instead. It runs great. Overall: you absolutely cannot do better than this at the $100 price point. Even the $300 price point isn’t going to get you a meaningfully better welder unless you really need to run super hot. This unit will comfortably run 5/32 rod. It probably won’t run 3/16. But realistically you won’t either.”

Customer Review: “PrimeWeld 225x 225 amp AC DC Pulse TIG/Stick welder Chris, Springfield, MO I received the new welder on the 18th of April. I bought this welder because the power is greater and the control is better than the other welders in this price category. I looked at other machines that cost much more and most of them did not have the adjustability of this machine. The machines that I found with most of the adjustability were in the $1500 to $2500 range or higher for the American made machines. I looked at the digital machines and decided I did not want to learn a new language again. Memorizing instructions (push this button three times and then that button twice then the button under the other setting once for this and a fourth button two more times) is not user friendly to me. I have tested this welder on mild steel in DC mode and found it to be a very good machine. The material I used was 3/16th flat and angle. The flat butt welds showed very good penetration and smooth consistency. The fillet welds were clean and strong. The duty cycle is 40% and the machine did not overload at any time during my testing. I did have several welds that were 5-6 minutes or longer on 3/16th aluminum tread-plate. I did one very long weld with the aluminum and the welder did not balk at all. As for TIG welding in general it is so versatile that a little investigation and knowledge can go a long way to overcome challenges. I believe that this will be a very good welder for anyone with a little experience welding; for those without any experience I would suggest getting together with someone who has at least a little experience for a little help. The internet is a very good place to get the information you will need to make the learning curve shorter. That is not to say that you have to have experience, only that depending on your ability to work things out by yourself it can be challenging. I have been a DIY’er for many, many years and I can tell you that TIG welding is not something most people can do perfectly at first try. In this realm it truly is practice that makes perfect. I haven’t done any TIG welding for more than 40 years and it is like learning to weld all over again. And it is still fun. This welder will give you everything you need to do the average welding jobs found in art, middle manufacturing and most anything around the house. I am giving this welder 5 stars; not because it is perfect, (though it is top of the line), but because I believe it is by far the best you can get for the money. The customer service is better than I have seen at many companies. I am sure Mike will bend over backwards to be the best in your mind as well. Customer Review: “This is my second Tig welding machine. My first, a $5K Miller, was so complex I grew frustrated trying to figure out the endless parameters of the machine and thusly the appearance of my aluminum work. This Primeweld 225x had me laying down very nice beads on aluminum lap, butt & fillet welds the second day of use…actually the first but some time was spent on familiarizing myself with different settings, Argon flow, pulse, etc. The CK flex head torch is very nice as is the ground clamp but I can see the benefits of going to a stubby conversion for closer work. I was apprehensive at first about the foot pedal but after spending time with it I like it. Immediate arc start and good let-off at the end of the weld. Good argon pre & post flow settings really helps. I have not used the included finger control or arc welding stinger although they seem a good quality. The owners manual is excellent! Very clear and concise with much helpful information on settings for both aluminum & Stainless steel. The amperage on the high end is good on 3/16″ and 1/4″ alum. Producing very satisfactory results. Welding vertical was easier than anticipated and results better than expected for first attempts. All in all I am extremely happy with machine especially after the rocket science PHD needed for my previous machine. I have two aluminum boats used in saltwater fishing & crabbing and the modifications needed are far too expensive to farm out so home-fab is a must. If you are looking to learn the Tig process this machine will fit the bill and not break the bank doing it. There are a lot of helpful Youtube videos on this welder as well that help during initial set up and operation and as I said, the owners manual is actually very useful and well done. For the money I don’t believe you can do much better.”

Customer Review: “Disclosure.. I have no welding certificate, but a lifetime of welding stick and a few years of MIG, all with A36 structural steel. I had access to an older ‘Chicaco Freight Electric Harbor’ 130A tig machine (no pedal whatsoever, no HF, scratch start..) so I tried that for a fab project in .065 stainless tube. Totally inadequate. So, I replaced the CFEH machine with this one. Only significant setback was that the argon hose supplied was bigger than the 1/4″ nipple on the back of the machine. I also bought an on-off pedal. The machine comes with a start button on the torch, which seemed to not offer proportional amps control, so the on-off pedal seemed compatible. I don’t know if the machine would recognize proportional control. I used the machine with 220V power, 100% argon, 1/16 308L filler rod and 1/16 SS 304 tube. The machine requires shield gas and a gas regulator. Also, this machine does not weld aluminum. I haven’t even tried, but TIG welding of aluminum requires reversal of welding polarity to start the arc/puddle/weld.. without this, the arc doesn’t displace aluminum’s oxide skin and weld quality is dangerously bad. Anyway, after replacing the oversize argon supply hose with a 1/4″ hose, and setting up the machine.. suddenly, it was almost like I could actually TIG weld! I’m still learning TIG, so I don’t have the finesse, experience, or exposure to a top-line pro machine for a proper comparison.. but compared to the ‘CFEH’ box I tried first, the difference was amazing! The arc starts when you want it, nice and stable, the cone is visible, the puddle develops nicely and is easy to see and control. My technique is still developing, so I did ‘cook’ the stainless a bit, but only one small blowout in the first three attempts. The manual includes a table of recommended settings for various welding scenarios, some of these specify 5 or 6 seconds of post arc gas flow.. but another part of the manual describes the machine with a preset 3 seconds of post flow, and no description in the manual or apparent ability to change this setting. Overall, the manual is adequate, but not exceptional – experienced welders won’t need a more detailed manual, but for those who make this their first TIG welder, a bit more information, presented better, would be an improvement. PROs: GREAT VALUE for the price, easily portable, can run on 110V, HF start works as it should, accepts A pedal (GET the pedal.. torch button pressure adds another variable to the all-important issue of torch height), digital display of power setting. CONs: Wrong size argon hose (with low quality hose clamps, too.) No ability to adjust post flow. Unknown (or none) support for proportional pedal. Underwhelming manual. No capability for aluminum. TIP: Buy the available on-off pedal. Use the money saved on this machine to buy the BEST AUTO-DARKENING HELMET you can find. Visibility is vitally important, and the $80 A-D helmet that’s fine for stick and MIG, won’t cut it for TIG. Overall, I am extremely happy with this machine, it will do what I need it to, at a fantastic price.”

Customer Review: “First off, I’m a semi professional welder. I’m Active Duty military but run a welding and fabrication business on the side working weekends. I normally use high dollar professional welders. I run a Miller Trailblazer off my truck and a Miller Multimatic 255 in my shop along with a Lincoln 180 that I keep .023 Mig wire in for thin stuff. So I’m reviewing this as an owner of an $8,500 and $4,700 dollar Miller welder. I just received this Tooliom 200A Tig/stick welder today. My reason for buying this machine is because I’m currently building a 365 ft long decorative steel fence for a client. I have almost all the posts and panels tacked in. When that’s done I’m gonna hire some help to weld everything in solid. I’m welding on 14 gauge steel so very difficult not to burn through. Running 3/32 6013 on electrode negative. My plan is for one of us to be burning rods off the Trailblazer and the generator from the trailblazer can also power the Tooliom welder. Since drawing power from the Trailblazer’s generator doesn’t effect the arc, should work fine. The Tooliom 200A arrived well packaged. Didn’t mess with the Tig kit yet. I think since the tig torch doesn’t have a way to adjust the amps, I may just order a different torch. I did try the the stick process. Very impressed. I had just tried a friends dual voltage cheap stick welder on 115V and could get it to weld 14 ga steel. Just couldn’t keep 6013 or 7014 arcs going. It really needs 230V. This Tooliom ran 3/32 6013 and 3/32 7018 just fine on 125V. It will get me through this fence job for a small investment. And now I have a very portable welder I can take to friends houses if I don’t want to take my huge welding truck that gets 11.5 mpg. I’m thinking I can use this on quick service calls on light stuff too. I get quite a bit of calls just welding mower decks. I did try this welder on 230V. Ran perfect. It ran 1/8 7018 electrodes really well. I was welding on 3/4 inch scrap plate. 130 Amps burned in nice. Had the plate been 1/4 or less, 125 amps would have been perfect. My Uncle, whose been a welder for 40 years was really skeptical at the manufacturer’s claim of amperage and duty cycle. He unboxed this thing with me and ran it through it’s paces as well. He walked away in disbelief. Very impressed. The only thing I wish the machine had was a hot start option and an inductance/arc force setting. But hey, for $196, it’s a great buy. There were other welders on Amazon for the same price range that offered more features than this one. However, they all had 30% duty cycles where as this one has 60%. Since I’m gonna be pushing this thing pretty hard I felt duty cycle was more important. Since my two Miller’s have every feature you could ask for, it just wasn’t important. I would recommend this for a beginner or hobbyist or someone that just welds around the farm or garage. Or for someone in my situation that only has one Welding truck and needs to have two welders going at the same time. I hope this helps someone decide. If you want to spend a little more money. Say $500, Everlast gets you a far better welder than the Harbor Freight Vulcan and Titanium welders. They are a good brand that sits between the ultra cheap Chinese stuff and the expensive red and blue machines. But again, I needed something as cheap and portable as I could find that would fit the bill. Very satisfied.”

Customer Review: “For the price of this tig welder you really can’t go wrong, it does AC and DC tig along with stick. I did not do any stick welding with it yet. Ran the machine on a few parts and it welded flawlessly. It comes with everything you need for tig welding except a regulator, tungsten and cylinder of argon, it does not come with a stick electrode holder. This welder uses the smaller 25mm dinse twist lock connectors, it has high frequency start with pulse, it is a point type HF start. The 17 series torch works well, it a euro stye and accepts all common 17 series parts for the head. The fans run all the time but not too loud, the inface is standard for most all tig machines so setting it up is easy. I don’t know if they make a pedal for this welder but might be a good add on, either way the trigger on the torch with up and down slope works well. Its small and compact and would make a good bench or machine to load up to take on-site. It 230V single phase only, you cannot plug into a 115v wall socket, I would assume it would do fine on a generator with a 30amp 230v output. The max amps is 200 and welding 1/4 aluminum is about as thick as it will weld for smaller parts, the power does seem legit as I do have a video of a bung being welded in 1/4 6061. Fit and finish is excellent, I was really surprised how good the arc was, for doing turbo pipes, exhaust and small parts this should work great. AC tig for doing aluminum on a budget is the real benefit to this machine.***Update, this little tig machine continues to put in the work, compared to some of my other much more expensive tig machines it is super handy to move around the shop for quick tack ups and repairs.”

Customer Review: “Cheap & dangerous machine. Poor build quality throughout. No brand name IGBT’s, mosfets or capacitors. All the wiring insulation is soft pvc & smells very chinesium. It came dammaged prior to shipping. The case was bashed in & the circuit board was cracked in one corner & a mount was broken off the board. The circuit board also showed prior failure & repair. (From a factory test failure or did someone buy this & return it broken maybe? IDK? The circuit boards & the traces seemed quite thin for a supposed high amp welder IMO. You could see the burn marks & sloppy soldering where they had replaced all the main IGBT’s. There was flux residue everywhere. They use terrible & dangerous electrical connections. A 200 amp welder with 50 amp terminals? Really?! The power switch was rated for 33 amps but the welder draws 43 amps. Hmmm?? And a 12 gauge power cord is safe for only 25 amps in short durations so how can you safely power it at 60% duty cycle @ 43 amps? All the hardware was super cheapo trash. The tig torch was a toy for a 4 year old. Cable gauge was small @ 16mm2. (only approx 6 gauge electrode & ground cables) None of the wiring was UL listed. The internal wiring had no listings of any kind, not even the gauge. Save yourself some time, hassle & disappointment & spend $80 bucks more for a real machine.”
